Same Costume, Different Halloween!

Happy Halloween!
We celebrated Halloween last weekend and it went a little something like this...

It was also boyfriend's mom's birthday and tradition has it when you celebrate your birthday in Vegas a pole dance picture is a MUST (I might have made that rule up...shhhh).

Happy Halloween from Eskihoe and Duff Man!

I Put A Spell On You, And Now You're Mine

I really love holidays and all of the fun activities centered around each one. Halloween is no different which is why I try to pack as many Halloweenish activities into the last few weeks of October. There is this "haunted" corn maze about 45 minutes away from Vegas. It used to be THE place to go when I was in high school. Then one year it burned down (I guess the ghosts and goblins were pyros) and it has been closed for the past few years. This year was the re-opening and after talking it up to the boyfriend we decided we HAD to go (side note- boyfriend is from Indy where they actually have LEGIT corn fields).

We get there and it isn't anything like I had remembered or bragged up. The corn was barely past my waist so you could see everything, including the haunted characters. And they make you follow a lit path instead of being able to get lost in the corn for hours. We still had fun though!

The next night we decided to check out a haunted house downtown which was super scary and very well put together.  Let's just say I'm glad I was in the middle when we were going through it (thanks for taking the lead Rhonda).

Then my absolute favorite picture of the night (or ever) happened:

I Wore What?!?!?!

I'm linking up today with a fun blogger Aly who blogs over at Analyze This.

Instead of digging through boxes of embarrassing outfit pictures I decided to do a quick scan through my facebook timeline- it did not disappoint! Here is my version of...

button

Let's just say for a good part of the beginning of my life I wore as little as possible...

Then I grew into the overalls stage (also known as the 90's).

This one time in high school we decided to make our own Halloween costumes.  I don't remember feeling as ridiculous as we looked...

Luckily my homemade costume making skills improved just in time to go to a party dressed as a human poker table....

And last but not least- who the heck let me leave the house with my hair looking like this....

I wish I could tell you I've changed my ways but I'd be lying if I said the pictures below weren't taken in the past couple of weeks. ;-)

A Turn Up For the Books

One of my favorite things about blogging is the people you can meet all over the world. Meet Rebecca. She's my friend from England that I have "known" for a few years now.  You can read her blog here. This girl travels like CRAZY and gets to visit a ton of cool places. At the beginning of this year she found herself in Vegas for a couple of days and we were able to meet up.

We had such a fun afternoon together! We pushed the boat out and would consider it a turn up for the books (British slang I probably just totally butchered). ;-)

Pumpkin Carving And Vino Drinking Don't Mix

Those pumpkins we got at the pumpkin patch didn't stay whole very long. I wanted to carve them as soon as we got home (at 11pm). I also thought it would be the perfect time to drink the bottle of wine we brought back from wine tasting in California a few weeks earlier.

Drinking wine and carving pumpkins sounds like a very relaxing idea right? Well it's not! Here's what really ended up happening (right after I burned all the pumpkin seeds):

Lesson learned...maybe. ;-)

Gluttony Is My Favorite Sin

Dating the brother of a Vegas wine sommelier has its perks. Like this 6 course food/7 course wine pairing dinner we got to attend the other night. I don't know what was better, the food or the company (okay it was definitely the company).

Saw It, Pinned It, Did It (Or At Least Tried)

Today I'm joining my first ever blogger link up!

Find the blog here :-)
I have been addicted to Pinterest since the day I finally got my invite accepted (I was on a waiting list for months and finally had to get my boyfriend to invite me- talk about embarrassing!)
Some of the stuff people are able to craft blows my mind. I swear Martha Stewart is out there hidden behind every crafty profile.
One of my favorite Pinterest inspirations is the sock bun.
I've been known to rock a bun-head and there's no better way to help my type-A personality than finally being able to make the bun perfectly round.
Here's the inspiration:

Found: here
And the reality:

I think I need a few more practice rounds before it's "Pin-worthy." ;-)

Not Your Average Parking Lot Pumpkin Patch

It's the time of year where parking lot pumpkin patches are strategically placed throughout Vegas.
There is something strange about pretending to pick pumpkins out of a hay covered store parking lot.
Honestly, how untraditional is this:

Luckily there are a few hidden gems around this city and McKee Ranch happens to be one of my favorites. It's located right in the heart of Vegas (just one street away from Las Vegas Blvd).
This ranch is filled with horses, goats, pigs, chickens and during October- pumpkins!
We had a blast exploring the ranch.

We even found some cute pumpkins to bring home.

Livin' Young, Wild and Free

This past year has been filled with some amazing, mind blowing and breathtaking moments.
I have pictures of most of these experiences, but there has always been one thing missing: the written story behind each adventure.
I don't want to miss out on the opportunity to document my life anymore. This blog will be able to capture all past, present and future memories.
If you are my family, boyfriend or friends: you WILL be featured on this blog from time to time.
You have been warned. ;-)
Basically, I'm just hoping that one day we will be able to look back and smile about the crazy times of our youth.
